the long road to healthy

weekly weigh in

Filed under: keeping it real, nutrition, weigh in — karena @ 3:07 pm

So, I haven’t shredded since late last week, I took three days completely off exercise to baby my knee back to health, and I’ve been going really low-impact on my cardio this week. Dare I step on the scale?

Yes, I dare. Because during all this I’ve been focusing on nutrition. Calculating just how many calories I’ve been eating and how many calories I’ve been drinking. It ain’t pretty, trust me. So I’ve adjusted accordingly. I’m feeling so noble and healthy, I don’t even miss my evening wine.

last week: 168.5
this week: 165.5

3 pounds

  1. Great job on the loss! I also have a bothersome knee, so I feel your pain. The Shred really does my knees in, so I try to pace myself. Unfortunately, I’ve learned I’m just not one of those people that can do it everyday. I love your title and banner. It is so true and I love the image. Keep up the good work!

  2. Thanks for the support and the compliments on the site! My knee is recovering, but I think I’ll lay off the shred for a month or so. 20 minutes a day appeals to me, but my knees seem to feel that “slow and steady” will win this race!

  5. Way to go! I need to get back to it. I fell of the wagon and haven’t figured out how to pick myself back up yet. I need to just suck up the pride, go back to level one and stay there until maybe it becomes easy. *LOL* EASY!! HA!

  7. Brooke and April — thanks for the support!

Kelli — weve all been there. Give yourself a good pep talk and get back to it! We’re all here to support you.

Ann — I’m really excited for the challenge! I saw that you homeschool in the introduction post, and I’ve been reading your last few posts. We’ll have to compare notes, and you can perhaps ease my beginner’s anxiety with been there/done that stories!
